Here’s a film that gets better with age. I know that I had seen this way back when it came out but I couldn’t remember it. So I had to watch it again. It’s one of Quentin’s underrated films and it’s because the plot and storytelling is a lot simpler than his others, but don’t let that fool you. It’s definitely twisted and as an ode to Blackxploitation films, it’s quite tame. I’d say the biggest surprise watching this again was Bridget Fonda‘s performance. I kept thinking that was her but didn’t believe it given how in great shape she was and I knew she couldn’t be an 18 yo. Well, I was wrong and she looked amazing. Now that’s one actress I really liked who’s career just never materialized where it should have been given her talent. I’d cast her in my film.
