I’m a sucker for any New York film, especially one about the turn of the century. First, Marion Cotillard is amazing. Wow. I’m just blown away that she can play any type of character. Truly gifted. As for the film, it’s a hodgepodge. First, it’s a very smart story, one I haven’t heard before although we know all of this type of stuff happened, my favorite being the book Dizzy City. But the twist that comes isn’t all that surprising but more devastating with Cotillard’s performance.
