Well, I definitely don&#8217;t agree with him. First, the premise is incredibly different. Where Rififi is the basis for all modern day heist films, Touchez Pas au Grisbi is more like The Soprano&#8217;s. An insight into older mobsters and their life as they get older. The connections they had, the sacrifices and what their goals are after you&#8217;ve lived an entire lifetime and then some, on the run, without friends, murders, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0300064\/\">Jean Gabin<\/a> is incredible in his performance. Very calm, stoic and he&#8217;s unlike any stereotype of a mobster or thug. And maybe that&#8217;s what helps this film.
