Beating out my favorite, Eat Drink Man Woman and critic&#8217;s favorite Big Night. Anyway, I&#8217;m watching this film about 19th century religious sect in rural Denmark and my wife walks in wondering what the hell I&#8217;m watching. Because it&#8217;s incredibly dated and there&#8217;s a lot of religious singing with the cast in period costumes. Anyway, it&#8217;s a bit strange and you really need to be in the mood.<\/p>\n<p>As for the food scene, well, it shows up nearly two-thirds into the film. They could have made the entire film just that last third and had a synopsis for the first part telling about the expat from France.
