This is the BEST film of the year. Period. Absolutely amazing, original and enjoyable. Everyone must watch this.
Now, I’m a huge fan of Singin’ in the Rain, one of the most brilliant films ever made. The Artist has a similar storyline, the advent of Talkies and the death of silent films and its ramifications on the stars.
Jean Dujardin is amazing! He’s as robust as Gene Kelly, he can act, can do amazing facial contortions, dance and is all around amazing. This is what movies were all about. I had a huge grin on my face throughout the film.
