★★★★

Director: Billy Wilder
Year: 1954

A Billy Wilder film always has such great dialogue. My dream is to develop a modern film but with all of the witty dialogue and quick fire dialogue like a Billy Wilder film. SNL just had a great spoof of one. Anyway, this is yet another Audrey Hepburn film. I can’t get enough of her.

I had never seen Sabrina. Not even the Harrison Ford remake. It’s a nice, simple story and I absolutely loved the set design. The 50’s modern, tech, gadget obsessed office is amazing to see. Now that was one crazy gadget obsessed desk (I would kill for it). And I love the viewpoint on plastics (a decade before Mrs. Robinson and the future being plastics!). The piece I didn’t buy was how quickly it took Bogart to fall in love with Hepburn. I mean, they couldn’t play it up a bit more in the beginning? And what’s with the wimpy father. Why was he so passive about his daughter?
