I thought it would be nice to introduce this classic to my 6-yo daughter but then found out my wife had never seen it either. So we had the whole family watching it. I think it holds up really well over time. But M. did get scared when the gov’t agents showed up. And I was impressed that neither of the kids were afraid of E.T. himself, which just proves what a mastermind Spielberg was in developing that character for the family.
The only thing that didn’t hold up were the Reese’s Pieces. The kids just thought they were M&M’s.
