I was shocked that Peter Jackson directed this, such an odd film for him. I’m not sure what I expected, but the afterlife scenes reminded me so much of a Terrence Malick film, which could be a good or bad thing. However, I was on the edge of my seat on multiple occassions and Saoirse Ronan was absolutely incredible for a child actor. And Stanley Tucci was a great villain and I loved his performance as much as Kevin Spacey’s in Seven.
