Director: Robert B. Weide
Year: 2011
This is an unprecedented documentary. It’s incredible, but only if you like Woody Allen. Robert Weide got full access to Woody and the people around him. It’s truly amazing in regards to footage, candidness and the amazing life that Woody has lived. His appreciation for Ingmar Bergman, how he got his first job writing jokes while in high school, everything you ever wanted to know is in here.
And because of this, you’ll see more Woody films popping up as I discover his old catalog and looks for all of those little nuances that he explains in this film which I definitely missed in some of his films. A huge must-see.
