War Horse

I’m going to call this film for what it is: the Forrest Gump of horses! I’m not sure what the discussion was in Hollywood for getting this film made. “Hey, I have this great film about a horse. And this horse does these amazing feats, then goes off to war, etc.” It’s really strange.
I thought it was okay. It’s no Horse Whisperer (even though I never saw that). But I kept thinking of the SNL sketch about this film where they lampoon the stage play of this with idiot actors in horse costume. And that’s what I thought of through this touching, dramatic film. I know, not really nice of me, but it got me through it.
