This film is absolutely incredible. I used to have a preconceived notion of Elmo, one that it was created out of commercial excess, especially after we had kids. But watching this film, seeing it as a labor of love and the gift that Kevin Clash has to bring characters to life was truly inspiring. Growing up in Baltimore, it was great seeing some of his childhood mimicking mine, especially some of the TV that he had seen. But to view the talent he had, not only as a teen, but to push forward with his passion and to succeed, to see him meet his idols and the knowledge and respect he has for its history, was truly remarkable.
