Easily, one of my favorite films this year. Not only because now I’m dying to head to Tokyo and try his sushi but because the cinematography and editing were brilliant. Just the subtle nuance of the storyline, how the reviewer and his eldest son become part of an optimistic storyline, just the subtle hint of a lost dream and just the attention to detail just as Jiro does with his sushi. It really makes you appreciate great sushi compared to the mediocre stuff available almost everywhere now. Not to mention a message around overfishing that’s not very preachy but is seamless through the journey. A must-see film for all food lovers, documentary lovers and everyone in between.
