Director: Nima Nourizadeh
Year: 2012

This was the second film I watched in a row with a handheld camera, Blair Witch project mockumentary style. The story is high school classic: parents are out of town, throw an epic party, become the cool kid. It’s a premise built upon the reality of being the outcast in high school. And as stupid as this film was, I could see myself watching it again. Definitely not like Old School (which is a classic), but it definitely had the right premise.

Unfortunately, the annoying part was the handheld camera. In this YouTube generation, I’m sure someone thought this would be the best way to make the film, but it’s distracting. I would have much rather enjoyed this film as a normal film. Just the methods they had to go through to make sure the guy holding the camera was in specific locations just got to be preposterous.
