Director: Roy Ward Baker
Year: 1958

James Cameron got a ton of source material for his version of Titanic from this film. It’s absolutely stunning to see and that it was made in the 50s with no real special effects (loved the camera sitting at a slight angle to depict the ship sinking in one direction). Whereas this film mostly concentrates on the first class passengers and only slightly gets into the second and third classes, it definitely was source material for the version most people know. It felt like reading the book after seeing the film version.
