What an absolutely awful and formulaic film. Even the title of it took away from the intrigue near the beginning. Anything and everything wrong with Hollywood is personified in this film. Basically, it makes it seem the audience is stupid (which maybe they are since this is a mainstream film). And the casting of Robert Duvall was just inappropriate, as you knew he would have a large role.
But the only good thing about this film is the casting of Werner Herzog as the villain. Awesome.
