Annie Hall
★★★★★
Director: Woody Allen
Year: 1977
I hadn’t seen this film in over ten years. And it definitely holds up well against time. What a brilliant, breakthrough film. Woody Allen’s style in direction and dialogue are so original and I never realized just how much Seinfeld (the show) stole from this film, but in style, characters and stories. Even though Manhattan is my favorite Allen film, this film legitimized him with the mainstream. And look how scrawny he was.

So many original and great scenes. Groundbreaking… talking to camera, bringing out Marshall McLuhan, complex relationships.
Hannah and her sisters next Sung!
The first and only time I saw Hannah I didn’t like it. Maybe again will be better. But the next Woody film for me is What’s Up Tiger Lily?
