This was a painful film to get through. It starts out heartbreaking and just brutal. Then it slowly develops. I thought Tom Ford’s first film, A Single Man was one of the best looking, styled and balanced films. This one is quite heavy. And unfortunately, Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance ruined it for me. He wasn’t quite right.
