So, I was all excited about this sequel. There’s some incredible fight sequences, but the film just spent too much time on Ip Man’s fight with a British boxer that made reminded me of Rocky IV rather than Ip Man 1. It definitely is more of a Rocky film, good guy overcomes than a historical journey like the original.
As far as contemporary martial arts fighting sequences, it’s a thing of beauty to witness. And after you’ve seen the original, you’ll definitely be wanting more so you’ll end up seeing this as well. Just hang on to your expectations.
