Director: Vanessa Gould
Year: 2008

We watched this based upon a recommendation from Eugenie and John and it was absolutely incredible! First, Vanessa Gould did an amazing job with this film. The storyline, the talent and the editing are just flawless.

It’s a documentary on origami. But not just the common origami that we all do, but the crazy, gorgeous, art object origami that take over 200 folds to accomplish. What these artists create are truly fascinating, all starting from the same premise of a single square sheet of paper and no cutting, tearing or gluing.  It’s simply jaw dropping since everyone is starting with the exact same sheet, just like you and I could.

But the bonus is talking with scientists and engineers and what they accomplish. The math of origami has never been so entertaining. And since it’s only an hour, worth taking your time to stream it from Netflix.
