So I had thought this film would be a comedy about big tobacco, but it’s actually about a gay con-man. Plus, after being in distribution limbo, it’s actually being released in cinemas this week. Anyway, let’s just say it should have stayed in limbo.

After about 20 minutes, I turned it off because it was so bad. But while I was taking a break, I read a review and found out this film is a true story and this eccentric was actually real, which is completely whacked. So I persevered and finished it. There were moments, but the film tried to border on slapstick, sincere and then screwball.  I had a difficult time trying to figure out what this film wanted to be.

But kudos to Ewan McGregor, who looked the part and acted the part and there was no confusing him from being a Jedi or a heroin junkie.
