So this film had a lot of potential because of the reality of the economic crisis. The plot being, there’s a series of layoffs and the film follows a couple of those individuals and how they cope. But the problem I had with this is, they’re all white collar individuals who made good money, so there’s absolutely no sympathy for these people.
Ben Affleck plays a cocky asshole who drives a Porsche. Yeah, that kinda guy. And we’re suppose to sympathize for this guy because he lost his job even though he still seems to have a perfect family, etc. Just not likable at all.
The only upside was Tommy Lee Jones‘ performance. He played the beaten down boss really well.
Not the best movie to be watching if you are unemployed either — plus the ending is a botch.
