If you’ve seen and enjoyed Julian Schnabel‘s Basquiat, then you should definitely watch this documentary. Tamra Davis’s documentary follows video footage she had kept of Basquiat, a friend of hers, and chronicles his rise but also demise. There’s more coverage of his drug use, his social life outside of art, than Schnabel’s film.

Plus the fact that this is a documentary and has footage of Basquiat, makes it even more eerie. Here’s this young, amazing talent, at the prime of his life, and you could see his life about to collapse around him…
