★★★★★

Director: Jacques Tati
Year: 1967

One of my favorite films, saw it again on a flight to LA. The gorgeous cinematography, pacing, lighting, almost everything is flawless. It makes me want to be in Paris in the 60s and witness the transformation of modernism in architecture and culture. And Tati seems to have been having a lot of fun there as well. One of the few films, along with Singin’ in the Rain that I could watch as many times to make me feel optimistic and happy about life.
