Synecdoche, New York
★★
Director: Charlie Kaufman
Year: 2008
I love Charlie Kaufman and Philip Seymore Hoffman, but this film wasn’t the best. I think he tried to overthink the premise and story and I suppose the good thing is, you’re really stuck in Kaufman’s head, much like Malchovic’s head. But it’s just non-stop moving and advancing that it’s difficult to follow. Not to mention, there’s a portion where our main character gets replaced by someone who looks like Larry David and I started imaging the Seinfeld reunion season not to mention the season where they evented the actual series.
