What an absolutely depressing film. After the first several minutes, you get into the pace. But it’s just miserable. You watch this woman’s who’s life has no purpose, she’s lonely and it’s just really sad. I can’t believe it’s Mike Leigh. Not sure why I expected a light, fun film. But it’s depressing. But Lesley Manville‘s performance and character was terrific.
