This isn’t the film everyone expected from the big name duo directing and producing this. But in the spirit of E.T., The Goonies and even Cloverfield, it’s a really well done film. It’s clearly made for 13 year olds. I could imagine how much I would have loved this film if I was 13 watching this during summer break. Plus, Elle Fanning was incredible! I love her voice in My Neighbor Totoro. And I enjoyed her performance in the horrible film Somewhere. But she really shines here, where my 13 year old self would have had a crush on her.
